Coach’s meet-day checklist

For coaches: what to settle the week before, what to pack, and what to do on the day. Tick it off the night before.

Coach’s meet-day checklist

The week before

  • Every student entered in the right event, with partners grouped for Duo and Multiple
  • Piece titles on the registration sheet
  • Judges named, with a phone number for each
  • The meet’s page read: schedule, address, parking, judge notes
  • Drivers and departure time set
  • Families told when you leave and when you expect to be back

In the bag

  • Your registration sheet, printed from the meet’s card in your team binder
  • Each student’s code, by event
  • Emergency contacts and any medical forms your school requires
  • Phone and charger
  • Pens, tape and a marker for the home base
  • Timing cards
  • Spare copies of scripts for Interpretation events
  • Water and snacks

On the day

  • Check the team in once you arrive
  • Make sure every judge has checked in
  • Show students where the postings are
  • Know where the tab room is
  • Running late or someone missing? Tell the tab room before the round, not after
  • After close of registration, a drop is a request the director approves
